Banyan in the Field at NCHCMM 2025

The 2025 National Conference on Health Communication, Marketing, and Media (NCHCMM) brought together public health communicators in Atlanta for three days of applied research, real-world case studies, and knowledge sharing that sharpens practice. Banyan was there — presenting, learning, and reconnecting with partners and clients doing meaningful work across the field.

On the poster floor

Sharanya Thummalapally, MPH, Senior Research & Evaluation Specialist, and Logan Kreider, Digital Marketing Specialist, presented Banyan's work with CDC's Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases. Our client Sara Bresee also took the floor to share insights from the award-winning From Coop to Kitchen campaign, a strong reminder of what's possible when strategy, creativity, and community trust come together.

From the sessions

A few themes kept surfacing across presentations: the staying power of authentic in user-generated content; the necessity of multi-layered tracking in digital campaigns; and the role the arts can play in connecting communities to health messages in ways data alone can't. Nothing entirely new, but hearing it grounded in real campaigns and evidence makes it stick differently.

Why we keep coming back

NCHCMM is one of the few spaces where practical solutions, honest lessons learned, and creative experimentation all share the same stage. For a team doing this work day in and day out, that kind of peer exchange matters. We're leaving with sharper thinking and a few ideas already in motion.
