Banyan Closes Its Biggest Year on Record with Seven Federal Wins

$73.5 million in potential work across SAMHSA, CDC and HRSA, spanning suicide prevention, school health, public health infrastructure and more.

Highlight | Business

Banyan Communications just closed the biggest year in its 31-year history.

The SBA-certified Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) ended fiscal year 2026 with seven federal contract and grant wins across the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Together, they represent approximately $73.5 million in potential contract value, including option years and estimated funding.

Behind this work are opportunities to create change for good, from helping people find support during a crisis to giving schools and communities information that promotes health and safety. For Banyan, it’s about making information engaging, accessible and useful when people need it most to help improve the health and wellbeing of communities across the country.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

SAMHSA selected Banyan to support national awareness of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, the largest of its fiscal year 2026 (FY26) wins. The work will help more people understand and connect with this critical resource.

Five wins across CDC

Banyan's work with the CDC expanded across five centers and divisions, supporting public health priorities that touch communities nationwide:

  • Public Health Infrastructure Center

  • Division of Violence Prevention

  • Division of Adolescent and School Health

  • Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases

  • Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity

HRSA, with NORC

Banyan partnered with NORC at the University of Chicago on a three-year HRSA grant supporting efforts to strengthen national public health programs and expand access to information and resources.

Banyan won this work in open competition, against firms many times its size.

"We compete nationally, and we win nationally," said Emily Hite, CEO of Banyan Communications. "We’re intentional about how we grow, who we partner with, and the impact we create. Agencies don't select us because we're small. They select us because of our strategic and technical expertise. Our partners trust us with problems that don't have simple answers. That's something we take seriously. Thirty-one years in, the question hasn't changed: did the information reach the person who needed it?"

For Banyan, FY26 marks more than a record year. It's an opportunity to bring its people-first approach to more communities and more of the public health challenges that matter, continuing its mission to Create Change for Good.
